Blog Envy

I should be writing my personal statement (or prospectus for that matter), but I've gotten lost in the blogosphere. And, while there, have developed a severe case of blog envy. It's to the point that I might even start telling people that I have a blog. Of course, that would mean that I'd have to be more diligent about writing it and coming up with witty and insightful (oh bother) things to say. Is it worth it?

The New Girl

Well, I finally took the plunge. Last semester we were encouraged to write- not necessarily about sociology even, but just to write. I still don't know what I'm going to say or what I want this to become, but I already know what I don't want. I started out with this being named "nde japu," which is guarani for "liar" or, literally translated, "you lie." Consider it social commentary. And then I realized that it sounded angry, so I went with my second and not-so-humorous but more academically-oriented option: "temiandu Kuera," or "thoughts" (Kuera makes the word plural). Suerte.
